DOMAINE ROUSSEAUX-BATTEUX 'Les Grandes Voyettes' 2021

Adrien meticulously farms just 2.6 hectares across the Montagne de Reims without any chemical herbicides or insecticides. His single vineyard plot named "Les Grandes Voyettes" is physically split into two sections. The cooler, upper part of the hill is planted with young-vine Chardonnay, while the bottom half contains old-vine Pinot Noir planted back in 1953. For the 2021 vintage, Adrien co-fermented Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend entirely in oak barrels to lend a beautifully rounded, creamy texture. After maturing for three years in their chalk caves, it was finished as an Extra Brut with a minuscule 1 g/L dosage. It is a true hidden gem, with only 2,202 bottles produced for the entire world.

Why we love it: This is complex, stony and deeply inviting with notes of yellow flowers, green mango and lemon rind.
