DOMAINE MEA 'La Rencontre'

First launched with the 2018 base vintage, La Rencontre represents the very first time Pinot Meunier was given a starring, equal role in a Domaine Méa cuvée. Winemakers Sophie and Franck crafted this wine around a strict rule of three: three grapes, three villages, and a three-gram dosage. It is a precise, harmonious blend of Pinot Noir from Ludes, Chardonnay from Montbré, and Pinot Meunier from Chigny-les-Roses. They age the base wines in oak barrels for over a year to impart a rich, rounded texture before letting the bottles rest for extensive aging in their cold chalk cellars. Bottled as an Extra Brut with a minimal 3 g/L dosage, this cuvée is an absolute rarity!
