DOMAINE MEA 'La Cuvee des Loups' 2019

Domaine Méa's La Cuvée des Loups, which translates to "The Cuvée of the Wolves," honors the history of the Louvois village where wolves once emerged from the surrounding forests to wander through the sloping vineyards. What's interesting is this wine is only made in exceptional years to capture the unique signature of a single harvest. For the 2019 vintage, winemakers Sophie and Franck selected their finest, oldest vines to create a perfectly balanced, 100% Grand Cru blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced exclusively from top plots in Bouzy and Louvois. The base wine spent 12 months aging in a combination of stainless steel vats and oak barrels, building incredible depth before resting on its lees for minimum of four years in their cold chalk cellars. Bottled as an Extra Brut with a near-zero 1 g/L dosage and is a rare jewel.
