DANIEL MOREAU 'Botte Secrete' Rosé

Literally translating to the "Secret Weapon," this bottle is grower Bastien Moreau's masterful take on a blended rosé. Grown on pure, chalk-dominant soils in the village of Vandières, it is built on a precise organic blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. The secret to its deep, striking ruby color and rich vinous muscle is the addition of 10% still red Pinot Noir wine, blended directly into the cuvée before it undergoes a generous cellar aging period on the lees and is finished with a low, elegant 4–6 g/L Brut dosage.

Why we love it: It completely ditches the pale, watery style of mass-market pink bubbles for a bold, deeply aromatic experience. The nose leaps out of the glass with a rich, expressive bouquet of wild strawberries and black cherries.
